Priorities
-
Healthcare
Insurance & Pharmaceuticals
I have seen people refuse care for life-threatening illnesses because of the cost. I will work to lower and cap the price of more pharmaceuticals in Oregon and work towards achieving healthcare that covers every Oregonian.Protecting Abortion
Abortion is under attack nationally and I pledge to be a strong ally in the fight to protect abortion rights in Oregon.Transparency
Patients and communities deserve honest information about hospital costs, finances, and priorities. I support stronger transparency requirements so healthcare systems are accountable to the people and communities that they serve.

Housing
Development
Development has to be sustainable and inclusive to historic communities and neighborhood character. New development must include a substantial percentage that is truly affordable for families who live and work in North and Northeast Portland.Renter Protections
We need to protect renters from rent hikes, no-cause evictions, and other hardships. -
Education
Safe & Supportive Schools
Our priority must be keeping students, educators, and families safe while ensuring every child and educator has the support they need to succeed. That means investing in school facilities, mental health services, and learning environments that help students thrive. No family should have to choose between their child’s well-being and their education.
Higher Education
Public higher education should open doors, not saddle young people with lifelong debt. I support reducing the cost of public colleges and universities so students can pursue their education, build careers, and contribute to our communities without starting adulthood buried under student loans.

Public Safety
Community-Based Solutions
I will listen to stakeholders and look for proven, equity-based solutions.Mental Health & Substance Abuse
Portland shouldn’t be the statewide backstop for people suffering from substance abuse disorders or with their mental health. We need investments in our community and statewide investments to take the care burden off Portland.Housing-First Solutions
Nobody should have to sleep outside. Making sure people are housed makes it much easier to connect them with services. -
Environment
Air Quality
The I-5 corridor passes through North and Northeast Portland, we need to make sure any expansion does not come at the cost of our air quality. Statewide investments in green transportation can keep our air clean in North Portland.Climate
Oregon has been a national leader in creating climate goals. We need strong leadership to write these goals into statutes and keep making Oregon a model for national climate action.Wildfire Mitigation
Forest fires are already causing respiratory problems for many vulnerable people during fire seasons. Even in Portland, making sure statewide investments are made in fire protection can help to protect vulnerable people in our community. -
Equity & Workers
Discrimination in any form isn’t acceptable. I will continue to work hard to make sure that Oregon is a place where your race, skin color, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, sex, immigration status, and physical ability aren’t barriers in our state.
Everyone deserves equal pay for equal work. We need to work proactively to close wage gaps so that gender identity or the color of your skin doesn’t determine who can keep living in our community and who gets priced out.
PERS
The Public Employees Retirement System must be protected. Working families should be able to count on retirement promises made by their employers. Public servants work hard and are often underpaid- they are owed the pensions that they were promised.Unions
I have spent over a decade fighting for unions. I will continue to go to Salem to fight and make sure everyone can join a union and collectively bargain for wages and benefits. I have walked the picket line many times as a leader in my nurse’s union, I will walk your picket line in solidarity with you!
